About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on Full-Time Cook/Cleaner to support the day-to-day running of our homestead and accommodation near Dirranbandi. This role is ideal for someone with strong hospitality and housekeeping experience who enjoys variety in their daily work and takes pride in maintaining high-quality standards for residents and team members.

You will be responsible for preparing meals in a commercial-style kitchen, maintaining cleanliness across accommodation, communal and office facilities, and supporting the overall presentation of our site.

The successful candidate will provide relief and support to the existing team. Cubbie Ag aims to provide employees a balanced workplace where everyone receives sufficient down time and appropriate coverage is in place.

This role is being advertised simultaneously with a Gardener role and could be ideal for a couple but is not limited to this arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

Cooking & Food Service

  • Prepare and serve meals in alignment with food safety standards
  • Preparation and organising meals for a camp of approximately 15 people
  • Ensure compliance with food safety requirements
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and perform deep cleaning as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the commercial kitchen

Cleaning & Housekeeping

  • Clean guest rooms, ensuites, and communal bathrooms
  • Make beds, change linen, and restock amenities
  • Perform laundry duties, including washing, drying, and sorting linen
  • Clean common areas such as gyms, recreation areas, offices, and dining spaces
  • Empty bins, sweep, mop, and carry out routine cleaning duties

General Support

  • Maintain dining room cleanliness and ensure food stations are stocked
  • Wash dishes and maintain tidy kitchen service areas
  • Support general site presentation and contribute to a positive resident experience
  • Occasionally be required to help with minor maintenance work or simple yard work
  • Work independently or as part of a small team and demonstrate a strong safety culture.

Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Demonstrated experience in hospitality, housekeeping, or kitchen operations
  • Confidence in the use of commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning tools
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and safe work practices
  • Ability to undertake repetitive, physical tasks (lifting, bending, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation standards
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work unsupervised
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Good communication skills and commitment to excellent service
  • Police check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing if required

Desirable:

  • RSA Certificate
  • Food Safety Certificate / Food Allergen Training
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Experience working in rural, remote, or camp-style environments

This position is available on either a 12-month contract or a full-time permanent basis.
