About Us

For over 35 years, Tuga Pastries has been baking joy into every bite. As a second-generation family bakery, we're famous for our flaky pastries, artisan breads, and -of course - our iconic Portuguese Tarts loved across Sydney.

We're expanding our Marrickville production facility and looking for a passionate Baker to join our growing team. If you take pride in your craft, love working with quality ingredients, and enjoy being part of a friendly, down-to-earth crew - you'll fit right in.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Baker, you'll play a key role in daily production, mentoring junior bakers, and maintaining the high standards Tuga is known for.

  • Hands-on bread baking and dough production
  • Working across a variety of breads – including sourdough and artisan styles
  • Managing medium-volume production with precision and consistency
  • Assisting with recipe development and process improvement
  • Working collaboratively with the team to meet daily targets
  • Excellent understanding of baking techniques and industry best practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Above all - a true passion for baking and pride in creating products people love

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1–2 years' experience in commercial bread baking
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and production processes
  • Experience in sourdough and artisan baking
  • Food Safety Certification (preferred but not essential)
  • Great communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
  • A true passion for baking and commitment to quality
  • Weekend availability is essential
  • Australian work rights required
