What's the role?

As the Area Sales Manager in your defined territory, you will drive profitable retail newspaper sales for all News Corp Australia publications. This full-time role follows a call cycle focused on growing relationships, increasing sales and delivering retail excellence through National, State and Regional campaigns across all sales channels. Through hands-on Retailer support and visual merchandising, you will educate customers on our products whilst capturing insights and retail space within Major Stakeholders.

About the role:

  • Tools of the trade provided includes a fully maintained company car, IPad, laptop and mobile phone

  • Drive sales opportunities to our existing network by creating visibility and availability to ensure products remain relevant and front of mind.

  • Build strong relationships with existing & new customers within the territory

  • Where applicable work in conjunction with Retail Support to ensure a positive customer experience

  • Will be a brand ambassador and always strive for premium merchandising space and collateral to be displayed in all accounts across your agreed territory.

  • Execute agreed National & Regional promotional program within a defined territory

  • Develop and implement territory plans for all Mastheads to capitalise on local market opportunities for our Customers

  • Execute the Call Cycle priorities for new and existing customers within the territory.

  • Work collaboratively within and across the State teams sharing successes and opportunities

  • Full time role servicing a metro and regional territory.

Who are you?

  • Maintain & build strong relationships with our customer base with a mix of National accounts, state based key accounts and independents in a multi-channel environment.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with a very professional customer service focus

  • Value the customer experience and do everything in your power to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Two years' experience in a similar role

  • Strong commercial acumen including the ability to use business data effectively to drive results

  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills and an ability to self-manage with high attention to detail

  • FMCG sales experience or prior business owner welcomed.
