The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor with an engineering background to join our Perth team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is a key role within our pre-contracts team, focused on delivering accurate and competitive tenders for complex civil and structural projects. We are particularly seeking candidates with proven experience in bridge construction, in-situ concrete works, civil road infrastructure, and drainage systems.
You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure our bids are not only commercially competitive but also technically sound and deliverable in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse tender documents, RFQs, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare scopes of work, detailed cost breakdowns, and tender submissions for bridges, concrete structures, civil roads, and drainage packages.
- Undertake quantity take-offs and first principles estimating for labour, plant, and materials.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop construction methodologies and value-engineering options.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and efficiencies to strengthen the competitiveness of submissions.
- Support program development and resource planning for large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor in the Australian civil construction industry.
- Strong technical knowledge in bridge construction, in-situ reinforced concrete works, road construction, and drainage systems.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver competitive and accurate cost estimates across major civil projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships.
