Working within the business analysis team, your main responsibilities will be the planning, estimation, discovery, distillation, specification and management of requirements across a diverse client and project base. Required Skills, Knowledge & Attributes

You must be:

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of 5 years as a BA
  • Experience and confidence consulting to clients on multiple projects
  • Multiple project experience in building web-based business applications
  • Structured approaches to planning and managing business analysis activities
  • Running project-inception, planning, prioritisation, showcase and retrospective sessions
  • Great personal organisation and task management skills
  • Adept at visually exploring and discovering requirements through the use of wireframes and/or interactive prototypes
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written – you are an articulate speaker, a great active-listener and write clearly, succinctly and unambiguously
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and facilitation of group discussions/sessions
  • Capturing and specifying requirements using a variety of methods according to the demands and nature of the engagement, client or team – including:
    • wireframes
    • user stories
    • structured statements for business, functional and non-functional requirements
    • business domain models
    • process/activity diagrams
  • Estimation techniques and concepts – including:
    • planning poker
    • story points
    • ideal-time
    • task-based
  • Ability to work independently and also collaboratively as part of a close knit team

  • Modelling/diagramming, ideally UML 2+
  • Confidence in engaging with and managing client interactions at all levels – you are attentive and great at managing client relationships
  • Multiple-project experience utilising Scrum, XP, Kanban or similar Agile approaches
  • Flexibility and experience in utilising a variety of approaches, methodologies or working-practices when adapting to each unique engagement

You will ideally also:

  • Be an evangelist for the BA profession, who blogs, presents and practices what they preach
  • Have used JIRA, Greenhopper and Confluence or similar/equivalent tools
  • Have some experience in iteration management / project management
  • Have some experience with mobile (iOS, Android, Windows Mobile) application development
  • Have been a software developer / designer / architect in a past life, with strong technical skills
  • Have experience and skills in business process analysis and familiarity with BPMN
  • Have familiarity or experience with DDD, TDD and/or BDD concepts
