Executive Support Officer, Housing and Public Works

Your role within Social and Affordable Housing Growth will support the department to deliver well-designed, safe and secure social housing to assist Queenslanders who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Through partnerships, Social and Affordable Housing Growth provides and influences the provision of safe, secure, affordable and appropriate housing to the people of Queensland, and the building of vibrant and connected precincts and communities in which they live. We influence, plan, design, procure and contract the delivery of contemporary housing solutions that meet the needs of our clients, reflect local community needs, and support jobs in regional Queensland. We maintain, upgrade and renew a housing portfolio of over 74,000 dwellings to ensure our tenants are safe, secure and in housing that continues to meet their needs.
You will provide high level confidential executive, administrative and project support to the Executive Director, Housing Growth.
What you will be doing:
• Keep abreast of current issues which may impact on Social Housing Delivery Office and report findings to your senior executive.
• Quality check correspondence, submissions, briefing notes and reports and provide advice to business areas where change/clarification is required and seek ways for continuous improvement.
• Actively review and manage work priorities and deadlines within office of your senior executive, on a daily basis.
• Manage and respond to emails on behalf of the business area within the Social Housing Delivery Office.
• Screen incoming calls and effectively manage queries and redirect calls to relevant business areas where appropriate.
• Coordinate and manage administration support activities across the business area, including quality assurance processes for correspondence, meeting papers and briefs, travel and itinerary arrangements and corporate card reconciliations.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships within the business area, the Minister's Office, Office of the Deputy Director-General and Office of the Director-General and other service areas of the department, other State Government agencies and external stakeholders to enable consultation, liaison and negotiation of priorities.
• Provide direction and guidance on executive support and general administrative tasks.
• Contribute at a high-level to a culture of client service, excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Actively participate in the delivery and coordination of the unit's business functions and undertake strategic projects as required.
• Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
