About the role
This position is responsible for ensuring the Public Transport Authority's (PTA) Building Access System operates effectively, securely, and in alignment with organisational requirements. The role focuses on maintaining the integrity and performance of one of the largest Building Access Systems in WA, safeguarding access for PTA employees and contractors. It involves overseeing daily operations, monitoring, and optimisation of our access control system as well as identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance functionality and security. The incumbent is expected to stay informed on emerging technologies and trends in electronic access systems, while also contributing to knowledge sharing and team development.
Key responsibilities include providing technical support for card readers, strike locks, mag locks, controllers, and other door hardware. This role also involves supporting cardholder management, monthly reporting and general system operations. The role supports continuous improvement initiatives, business continuity planning, and compliance with service level agreements. It also involves managing customer relations, supporting internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to project documentation and delivery for system upgrades and installations. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams are essential to ensure seamless service delivery and operational excellence.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Demonstrated recent experience in managing a building access system with installation, configuration or support, with a strong focus on operational reliability and security within complex environments.
- Skilled in troubleshooting access issues and maintaining an access control system, with a proven ability to implement enhancements that improve system performance and business outcomes.
- Well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify issues, and produce clear, actionable reports to support decision-making.
- Demonstrates strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet agreed targets and deadlines. Certifications such as Gallagher Administrator or WA Security Licence are advantageous.

There is one permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
