About Us

The South of Perth Yacht Club (SoPYC) is a vibrant and prestigious Club located on the Swan River. We are proud to host a wide range of events, from private functions and corporate gatherings to Club celebrations. We are seeking an experienced and creative Event Manager to join our Food & Beverage team and deliver exceptional, memorable experiences for our members and guests.

About the Role

As Event Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering a wide range of Club and member events from concept through to completion. You will work closely with the Food & Beverage team, chefs, and external partners to ensure each event is executed to the highest standard. This role will suit a motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys creating experiences that exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead event planning, logistics, and execution for Club and private events.
  • Develop event budgets, track performance, and meet agreed KPIs.
  • Build strong relationships with members, clients, and suppliers to foster repeat business.
  • Oversee on-site event delivery, ensuring quality service and adherence to health & safety standards.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with marketing partners to promote Club events and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in event management, ideally within hospitality or clubs.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A creative, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver events that achieve financial targets.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing requirements.
Qualifications & Compliance
  • Formal qualifications in Tourism, Catering, or Hospitality Management (desirable).
  • Current Police History Check (required).
