About the role

An opportunity currently exists for an individual to join the Yakult Australia Public Relations Department, as a permanent full-time Communications Officer (Nutrition Education and Digital Engagement), located at our Head Office in Dandenong.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified nutritionist with a proven track record in public relations, social media management, digital engagement, and data analysis. Reporting to the Head of the Public Relations Department, the successful candidate will bring a background in nutrition along with experience in social media communications.

Yakult Australia will provide comprehensive training and product knowledge to support the successful application in the role.

Hours

8:30am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).

We are open to some flexibility which can be discussed further during the interview.

Key duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Provide nutrition talks and educational presentations for all age groups
• Conduct educational Dandenong factory site tours for various groups, including community groups and primary, secondary, and tertiary schools
• Respond to written, phone, and online enquiries regarding Yakult Australia including product composition and benefits
• Assist in receiving and resolving customer enquiries and complaints
• Communicate nutrition and brand content via digital media
• To collaborate and work with external parties and assist with organising topics for social media and be the first point of contact in relation to direct enquiries on social media
• Creating consumer-friendly content to promote nutrition and brand loyalty through social media, EDMs, videos, and reels
• Monitoring and analysing social media performance and recommending strategies to boost engagement
• Maintaining and updating website content to ensure functionality and a positive user experience
• Ensure all content aligns with Yakult Australia's brand guidelines, tone of voice, and visual identity across all platforms
• Maintain and update marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, presentations, product sheets, and digital assets, ensuring all materials are consistent with brand guidelines and reflect current product or service offerings

Key Selection Criteria

Applications must address the following in their application:

Qualifications in Nutrition

• Bachelor's Degree in nutrition or a closely related field

Public Speaking and Education Delivery

• Proven experience delivering educational presentations and/or workshops to school-age children, tertiary students, and community groups
• Comfortable speaking to groups of various sizes and backgrounds

Digital Communication and Social Media Management

• Demonstrated experience managing digital platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and EDM tolls)
• Ability to create engaging, audience-relevant content, including short-form videos and reels
• Please provide an example of a reel or video content you have created

Written Communication and Customer Service

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to respond professionally to consumer enquiries and feedback across multiple channels

Analytical and Strategic Thinking

• Ability to interpret social media/digital performance data, generate reports, and recommend improvements to engagement and reach

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Proficiency in Excel is essential
• Applicants will be asked to complete an Excel-based task during the interview

Graphic Design and Website Experience (Highly Regarded)

• Experience with Canva or similar tools to produce marketing materials
• Confidence in updating web content to improve functionality and user experience

Brand Alignment and Professionalism

• Understanding of brand consistency, tone of voice, and visual identity
• Willingness to represent Yakult Australia in a professional and engaging manner

Working with Children Check

• Must be eligible to obtain or currently hold a valid Working with Children Check
