About the Opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to provide a vital Environmental Health Service to the residents of Mildura Rural City Council. As an Environmental Health Officer and Authorised Officer, you will hold a statutory position under a range of key legislations, including the Public Health and Wellbeing Act, Food Act, Housing Act, and more. You'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient and professional delivery of services related to public health, food safety, housing, environment protection, and local laws, making a meaningful impact on the community's wellbeing.

What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

• A Diploma or Degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent.
• A qualification in Health Education and Quality systems (desirable)
• Member of Australian Institute of Environmental Health and or Environmental Health Professionals Australia
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Environmental Health Officer
• Demonstrated experience in supervising, influencing and coaching staff.
• Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or willing to obtain one.
• Hold a current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one.
• Current Victorian Drivers licence.

Salary and conditions

The position is classified within Band 7 of Council's Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $104,998 to $117,480 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
