Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced ICT / Security Architect to lead the design, specification, and governance of secure ICT systems and solutions. You will work on mission-critical projects, collaborating with engineering, security, cloud, and operations teams to ensure systems are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned to Defence and government requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain architecture blueprints for secure ICT systems.
  • Define and enforce security architecture standards including secure by design, threat modelling, and compliance with ISM, PSPF, IRAP, ISO 27001, and Essential Eight.
  • Collaborate with engineers, DevOps, operations, and governance teams to ensure designs are practical and maintainable.
  • Review and approve solution designs, infrastructure changes, and cloud implementations.
  • Ensure alignment of architecture across systems, networks, identity and access, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
  • Support accreditation, compliance documentation, and audits.
  • Mentor technical staff and promote best practice in secure architecture.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong background in ICT or enterprise security architecture in government or regulated sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks such as ISM, PSPF, IRAP PROTECTED, ISO 27001, and Essential Eight.
  • Experience designing hybrid and cloud architectures (Azure or AWS).
  • Proficiency in identity services, network security, and secure connectivity.
  • Experience in risk assessment, secure design reviews, and system hardening.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and leadership teams.
  • Australian Citizenship with an active security clearance (NV1 minimum, NV2 or TSPV highly desirable).
