Assistant Production Team Leader

BWA National is hiring a full-time, hands-on team member for its Deer Park facility in Victoria. This role supports the safe and efficient re-filling of BBQ gas cylinders on the production line and includes leadership responsibilities when the team leader is absent—managing up to 18 staff and ensuring smooth plant operations. Relief forklift duties are also required when the primary operator is absent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in production tasks: sorting, cleaning, filling, loading/unloading gas cylinders.
- Supervise staff and oversee safe operations when the team leader is away.
- Liaise with operations and client managers; complete admin and daily production reports.
- Drive a forklift as needed and assist with rostering and basic disciplinary tasks.
Requirements:
- Prior leadership experience in a production environment.
- Forklift licence and physical ability to lift up to 20kg.
- Strong communication, safety focus, and reliability.
Able to work early shifts (start between 4am–6am) and complete regular overtime.
Standard shift hours are 6am - 2pm
- Willing to travel occasionally and pass random drug/alcohol testing.
