About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an energetic and experienced individual to join the North West team at Inala.
Inala is a vibrant community that supports adults living with intellectual disabilities.
We are committed to building personal and trusted relationships, delivering excellence in individualised support, and fostering a strong sense of belonging.
We seek people who share this vision — individuals who show respect, demonstrate empathy and creativity, and act with integrity in every aspect of their work.
We are seeking enthusiastic candidates to work in a solo overnight awake role, providing person-centred support in the home environment. You will be responsible for supporting the overall needs, routines, and preferences of residents during the night — promoting their independence, autonomy, and quality of life. This includes respecting cultural choices and assisting in the implementation of meaningful, individualised experiences.
We are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience in:
- Manual handling
- Complex behaviour support, including the ability to understand and implement multi-stage protocols
- Catheter care
- Epilepsy management
- Complex bowel care
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a calm yet confident approach to effectively support individuals with complex behaviours and respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
In addition to meeting the essential criteria listed in this advertisement, the successful candidate must also demonstrate the ability to:
- Apply a high level of situational awareness to prevent, manage, and respond to behaviours effectively
- Adapt quickly to sudden changes in routine, showing flexibility in working both independently and as part of a team
- Take initiative and maintain strong attention to detail across all areas of support
- Work collaboratively and communicate closely within a well-established team to ensure accurate monitoring, documentation, and escalation of health and behavioural concerns
- Communicate clearly and professionally — both verbally and in writing — with residents, families, and all relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to a fun, high-performing, and family-friendly team environment
- Sunday to Thursday: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Friday & Saturday: 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Remaining casual & part-time disability support worker positions within accommodation services are available upon discussion with suitable candidate.
