Employment Type: Full-Time (or Part-Time)

Job Summary

The Signage Production Assistant supports the fabrication, assembly, and installation of a variety of signage products. This role involves hands-on production work, preparing materials, operating equipment, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring deadlines are met. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable with manual tasks, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities - Production & Fabrication

  • Assist with the production of signage including vinyl graphics, print signage, dimensional lettering, banners, and displays.
  • Operate production equipment such as wide-format printers, laminators, cutters, and heat presses.
  • Weed, mask, trim, and prepare vinyl decals and large-format prints.
  • Assemble signs using hand and power tools (e.g., drills, rivet guns, heat guns).
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency in colour, sizing, and cutting.

Material Handling & Preparation

  • Measure, cut, and prepare substrates (aluminum, acrylic, PVC, foam board, etc.).
  • Organize, label, and track materials for specific work orders.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.

Quality Control

  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and company standards.
  • Identify and report production issues or equipment malfunctions.

Installation Support (When Required )

  • Assist with on-site installations of interior/exterior signage, decals, vehicle graphics, and displays.
  • Prepare installation materials and load/unload equipment safely.

Administrative & Coordination

  • Follow production schedules and update job progress in workflow systems.
  • Communicate effectively with designers, production leads, and project managers.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in sign production, print shops, or related fabrication environments is a plus (but not always required).
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, templates, and basic technical drawings.
  • Basic proficiency in design/production software (Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, FlexiSIGN, or similar) is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift materials and signage components (typically up to 50 lbs).
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

  • Production floor / workshop environment.
  • May involve standing for long periods, lifting, and working with machinery and adhesives.
  • Occasional off-site installation work depending on role.
