Position Summary

The Signage and Printing Assistant supports the production of printed materials and signage by preparing artwork, operating printing and finishing equipment, ensuring quality control, and assisting with installation tasks as needed. This role helps maintain smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment and ensures all customer orders are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities Production & Printing

  • Operate large-format printers, digital printers, laminators, cutters, and other finishing equipment.
  • Prepare print files (sizing, colour correction, layout adjustments) according to job specifications.
  • Load materials such as vinyl, paper, banner stock, and substrates.
  • Monitor print jobs to ensure colour accuracy, alignment, and overall print quality.
  • Assist with fabrication of various signage types (vinyl decals, banners, posters, rigid signs, vehicle graphics, etc.).

Installation Support

  • Assist with onsite or in-shop signage installation as needed (mounting, application of decals, banner hanging, etc.).
  • Prepare surfaces, measure placement, and apply graphics using proper tools and techniques.

Quality Control

  • Inspect finished products for defects, accuracy, and compliance with order requirements.
  • Ensure all jobs meet company quality standards before packaging or delivery.

Workflow & Administrative Tasks

  • Maintain organized production files, job tickets, and inventory records.
  • Communicate with team members regarding job status, material needs, or equipment issues.
  • Package completed orders and prepare them for pickup, delivery, or shipping.

Maintenance & Safety

  • Clean and maintain printing equipment and work area.
  • Follow safety guidelines and proper handling procedures for tools, materials, and chemicals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in printing, signage production, or related field (preferred).
  • Basic design or layout skills (Flexi, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar) preferred.
  • Ability to measure accurately and pay strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with machinery, tools, and adhesives.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift materials and substrates
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced production environment with periods of standing, lifting, and manual tasks.
  • May require occasional off-site installations.
  • Use of tools, ladders, and installation equipment as needed.
