About Us

Court Services Victoria (CSV) provides corporate and facility services to support the operations of Victoria's courts and tribunals, including the Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Together, these entities form the `Courts Group', which includes the Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners Courts, VCAT, and CSV itself.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV), part of the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, plays a vital role in delivering justice across metropolitan and regional areas. Handling over 300,000 cases annually at 51 venues, MCV accounts for around 90% of all cases heard in Victorian courts. The Court is committed to being innovative, accessible, and responsive, providing high-quality services to the Victorian community.

Court Services programs include the Court Integrated Services Program (CISP), Navigation and Triage (NAT), the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) and the CISP Remand Outreach Program (CROP), Koori Court, and Family Violence initiatives. These programs support individuals facing social or cultural disadvantage including substance abuse, disability, family violence, mental illness, or cognitive impairment through a client-centred, problem-solving approach that promotes rehabilitation and positive change. Court Services collaborates with government departments, Victoria Police, and community agencies to enhance community safety.

About the Role

This role is a senior member of the Indictable Crime Stream (ICS) case management team provides advanced case management to clients on bail with complex needs such as mental illness, cognitive impairment, substance use, homelessness, and family violence. It focuses on supporting recovery and stability through tailored interventions, while also contributing to team development through mentoring and practice improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-level case management and risk assessment for clients with complex psycho-social needs

Mentor and coach case managers working with high-risk clients

Coordinate access to treatment and support services across housing, AOD, mental health, ABI, and family violence

Prepare court reports and provide expert advice to the judiciary

- Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and contribute to continuous practice improvement

About You

Hold a tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, welfare, disability, or a related field

Experienced in assessing and managing clients with complex mental health and/or disability needs

Skilled in preparing court reports and presenting advice in court settings

Able to build strong professional relationships with clients, judiciary, and stakeholders

Confident working within the justice system to support positive client outcomes

Provide informal mentoring and support to less experienced team members

- Contribute to a collaborative and professional team environment
