About Us
Court Services Victoria (CSV) provides corporate and facility services to support the operations of Victoria's courts and tribunals, including the Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Together, these entities form the `Courts Group', which includes the Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners Courts, VCAT, and CSV itself.
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV), part of the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, plays a vital role in delivering justice across metropolitan and regional areas. Handling over 300,000 cases annually at 51 venues, MCV accounts for around 90% of all cases heard in Victorian courts. The Court is committed to being innovative, accessible, and responsive, providing high-quality services to the Victorian community.
Court Services lead the development and implementation of solution-focused and therapeutic justice approaches. These specialist programs address the root causes of offending, aiming to break the cycle of repeat court appearances and support long-term positive outcomes.
