About the Opportunity

Located in one of the finest regional areas of Victoria, Council is seeking a Planning Administration Officer offered on high level to assist the Planning Unit. If you would like the opportunity to live and work in one of the most attractive sea/tree change communities in Australia whilst working in a contemporary, digital, high performing and stimulating environment, then the Glenelg Shire Council has a job opportunity for you.

The role is an essential part of the Planning Unit that triages and administrates day to day operations as well as providing high level support to the team on key projects.

Glenelg Shire is currently working through four-year planning scheme review with key priorities to undertake settlement planning for its towns and settlements, rural lifestyle land and floodplain management. Council is also experiencing strong growth in the renewable energy sector with a wide range of opportunities being investigated in the shire. The role will be a vital conduit and support to the planners undertaking this work.

We are looking for someone who has extensive administration experience, preferably in the land use planning sector or a closely associated area and with excellent written and verbal communications skills.

What you need to Succeed

As the Planning Administration Officer, you will:

  • Provide effective and efficient administrative support to the Planning Unit
  • Assist in the implementation of the goals, objectives and key performance indicators contained in the Council Plan and Planning Scheme Review.
  • Deliver the best available advice, assistance and service to internal and external customers which enhances a positive image for the department and Council.

We are seeking someone who has high level administration skills and who can support the Planning team in delivery of their projects, planning assessments and customer enquiry response.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated, customer orientated and committed to delivering a high standard of service and results.
