So, we are seeking a confident and enthusiastic person who share our values – Think Sharp, Dig In and Care - to join our high performing team Glencore is committed to providing an environment that adheres to the Respect at Work Legislation Job Description Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Senior Mining Engineer leads the Medium-Term Planning Team to produce medium term dig, dump and drill & blast designs and schedules. The role is technical, focussed on process management with one direct report You will have a high level of exposure to stakeholders and engagement with all levels of the business and will be provided mentoring and development opportunities to further your career path ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Providing expertise and oversight to optimise mine design and scheduling.
  • Reconciliation of mine design process and conformance to plan.
  • Liaising with various stakeholders regarding short term design and scheduling.
ROSTER AND LOCATION
  • Monday to Friday professional roster
  • Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)
ABOUT YOU
  • Formal qualifications in Mining Engineering or related field.
  • years of experience in mining operations, with a focus on mine design, scheduling, and strategic planning.
  • Proficiency in mine planning software (Vulcan, Deswik) and scheduling tools (SPRY, Deswik).
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to assess opportunities and risks, and the ability to develop actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
