Medium Term Planning Engineer Role

Mining engineers play a vital role in the planning and execution of mine operations. The medium term planning engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing short, medium and long term mine plans that align with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of the Life of Mine (LOM) plan, including schedules and forward work plans.
  • Contribute to reserves and schedules for operational processes.
  • Evaluate mine planning options to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain an inventory of medium-term designs, out to 18 months.
  • Liaise with operational teams to ensure delivery of the plan.
  • Coach and mentor other team members.
  • Monitor compliance to legislative requirements and site standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Mining experience in large-scale operations.
  • Experience with CAD design software packages.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Leadership, mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
