Job Overview:

Mining engineers play a crucial role in the extraction of coal from open-cut mines. They are responsible for designing and implementing mine plans, ensuring that mining activities are carried out safely and efficiently.

As a Mining Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for short, medium, and long-term mine planning, drill and blast engineering, pit geology, and survey. Our close working relationships with Mine Operations allow us to support our people to develop their skills and reach their potential.

About the Role:

  • A Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • Previous experience in mine planning within an Open Cut Coal Mining environment is essential.
  • Proficiency with CAD design software packages such as Deswik, shot plus, or Vulcan is necessary.
  • An eye for detail and an ability to develop practical and achievable mine designs and schedules is a must.
  • Strong communication and time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels is required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are necessary.
  • NW driver's license is mandatory.
