A Delish affair is looking for a caring and reliable Catering Assistant to join our team in the Mental Health Unit at a Private Hospital in Kingswood. In this role, you'll play an important part in creating a welcoming dining experience for our patients while supporting the kitchen team to deliver safe, nutritious, and well-presented meals.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Meal Service in the Dining Area: Assist with the setup and delivery of meals in the dining room, ensuring accuracy, portion control, and presentation standards are consistently met.
  • Hygiene and Cleanliness: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the dining and service areas, including clearing tables, washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and assisting with general kitchen cleaning tasks.
  • Patient Interaction & Customer Service: Greet and assist patients in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner. Support patients during mealtimes where needed, and respond to any meal-related questions or concerns with care and understanding.
  • Supporting Kitchen Staff: Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff, helping with food preparation, plating, and additional tasks during busy service times.
  • Record Keeping & Compliance: .Accurately record food temperatures, service times, and any patient dietary adjustments to ensure compliance with hospital protocols and food safety standards

What We're Looking For

  • A friendly, approachable nature and genuine care for patient wellbeing
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure dietary and portion requirements are met
  • Ability to follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Previous experience in healthcare or hospitality is an advantage, but training will be provided

Pay: $25.85 – $37.42 per hour

Experience:

  • working in Hospital or Age Care Settings: 1 year (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Working with Children Check (Preferred)
  • Police Check (Preferred)
