A Delish affair is looking for a caring and reliable **Catering Assistant** to join our team in the Mental Health Unit at a Private Hospital in Kingswood. In this role, you’ll play an important part in creating a welcoming dining experience for our patients while supporting the kitchen team to deliver safe, nutritious, and well-presented meals.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- **Meal Service in the Dining Area**: Assist with the setup and delivery of meals in the dining room, ensuring accuracy, portion control, and presentation standards are consistently met.
- **Hygiene and Cleanliness**: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the dining and service areas, including clearing tables, washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and assisting with general kitchen cleaning tasks.
- **Patient Interaction & Customer Service**: Greet and assist patients in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner. Support patients during mealtimes where needed, and respond to any meal-related questions or concerns with care and understanding.
- **Supporting Kitchen Staff**:Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff, helping with food preparation, plating, and additional tasks during busy service times.
- **Record Keeping & Compliance**:.Accurately record food temperatures, service times, and any patient dietary adjustments to ensure compliance with hospital protocols and food safety standards

**What We’re Looking For**
- A friendly, approachable nature and genuine care for patient wellbeing
- Strong attention to detail to ensure dietary and portion requirements are met
- Ability to follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Previous experience in healthcare or hospitality is an advantage, but training will be provided

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.95 - $37.42 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kingswood NSW 2747: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- working in Hospital or Age Care Settings: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- Police Check (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
