Purchasing Officer – Foodservice Distribution

As a leading foodservice distributor in the Whitsundays, Whitsunday Foodservice (WFS) has been proudly servicing the industry for nearly 40 years. We've grown through strong relationships, exceptional service, quality products, competitive pricing, and the ability to adapt with the times.

We're now looking for a Purchasing Officer to join our team. This is a varied and fast-paced role where you'll play a key part in ensuring stock levels are maintained and purchasing operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing and managing purchase orders
  • Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain adequate stock levels
  • Coordinating with suppliers on orders, freight, ETAs, and delivery schedules
  • Monitoring due dates, communicating anomalies, and escalating issues where required
  • Maintaining accurate records, databases, and supplier information
  • Sourcing suppliers and quotations as needed, and building strong supplier relationships
  • Providing regular updates to management and supporting with reporting
  • General data entry and administrative duties as required
