The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the General Manager will lead the day to day operations with a balanced focus on sales management and operational excellence. This role will drive strategic growth across Australia, with a particular emphasis on the rapidly expanding Queensland market ahead of the 2026 smoke alarm legislation deadline. You will oversee the promotion of our industry-leading GT smoke alarms and the roll out of our state-of-the-art AI-powered fire detection cameras, ensuring strategic alignment and operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute national strategic plans to achieve sales and operational objectives.
- Oversee sales and operational teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and high performance standards.
- Lead the creation and execution of go-to-market (GTM) campaigns for new products, including AI-powered fire detection cameras.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, including electrical wholesale partners and distributors.
- Ensure operational efficiency through meticulous attention to detail, process optimization, and resource management.
- Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and provide strategic reports to the Managing Director.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes (e.g., 2026 QLD legislation), and competitor activities to drive strategic decisions.
About You:
- Essential: Minimum of 3 years' leadership experience in the electrical wholesale or similar industry, with a balance of sales and operational management.
- Highly Desirable: Strong technical knowledge of fire detection, CCTV and similar products and their applications.
- Highly Regarded: Proven experience in creating and driving successful go-to-market campaigns for new products.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of delivering results in dynamic environments.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience managing budgets and performance metrics.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and align teams.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel nationally as required.
- Relevant qualifications in business, management, or a technical field are advantageous.
