Lead Civil Engineer – Water & Wastewater

Location: Brisbane

Salary: $170K to $210K + benefits

This is an opportunity to lead, grow, and build something new within a long-established consultancy that has been delivering iconic projects across Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW for decades.

As the Lead Civil Engineer, you'll establish and grow a new water business unit within a respected multi-disciplinary team, backed by internal referrals and strong cross-functional collaboration. You'll have the autonomy to shape your own team, drive project excellence, and create enduring value for the communities you serve.

What You'll Deliver

  • Technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Oversight of feasibility, design, and delivery phases for pipelines, treatment plants, and associated civil infrastructure.
  • Mentoring and development of emerging engineers while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
  • Client engagement and project delivery for local and state government clients, ensuring technical excellence and commercial outcomes.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (essential).
  • RPEQ registration or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure, ideally within consulting or design environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects, teams, and client relationships across local government and utility sectors.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, design codes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with a focus on building capability and delivering sustainable outcomes.
