Yarra Trams requires a Safety Advisor within the Health, Safety and Sustainability function. Reporting to the Safety Manager, this role involves:
- Providing support, coordination and advice relating to Rail Safety and OHS practices, systems and procedures
- Conducting Rail Safety and OHS audits and inspections
- Identifying workplace hazards and leading the development and implementation of prevention programs
- Implementing occupational health and safety and rail safety procedures based on approved company policies in the areas of health, safety and rail safety
- Providing Health and Safety and rail safety specialist advice and technical input to deliver, ensuring legal and contractual obligations / risks are identified and communicated appropriately
- Monitoring hazards and event trends to input into the overall Health & Safety prevention programs
- Assisting in providing specialist advice on Safety Interface coordination, worksite protection and accreditation requirements
- Performing all duties in accordance with Yarra Trams policies, processes, systems and procedures
About you
Ideally you will have:
- Tertiary studies in an appropriate Technical, Safety or Risk related discipline
- OHS Safety and / or Rail Safety management experience
- Detailed knowledge of Rail Safety Management Systems, IMS/SMS procedures & Safe Working methods and their application
- Experience and knowledge of leading a contemporary Rail Safety practice and models.
- Knowledge of the application of management systems and procedures in the operational context for Rail.
- Experience in risk management procedures and processes
- Knowledge of system, procedure and high risk activity auditing compliance and reporting procedures and processes.
- Knowledge of Rail Accreditation requirements across all permissions and jurisdictions
