Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this newly created role, you will report to the Senior E&I Engineer and support our Electrical Team in delivering excellence across a variety of projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge automation and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement electrical and instrumentation systems across a range of diverse and interesting projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system compatibility and integration.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for new automation projects.
  • Develop and maintain control system architecture, including PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of hardware and software systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards and regulations.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and user manuals.
  • Provide support during commissioning, FAT and SAT phases of projects.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in automation technology advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and automation engineering.
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Emerson, Siemens, etc.) and experience with Ignition, clear SCADA and HMI systems.
  • Strong knowledge of control system design principles (Ladder Logic, Structured Text etc) and instrument configuration practices.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP etc).
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in process control and industrial automation.
  • Understanding of safety systems and hazardous area installation.
  • Familiarity with control system cybersecurity standards (e.g., AS IEC
