About Us

Coogee Common is a distinctive dining destination in Coogee, Perth — set on the grounds of the historic Coogee Hotel (established in 1894) surrounded by two acres of kitchen gardens, orchards and beehives.

We believe in garden‑to‑plate philosophy: much of what is served in our Modern Australian menu is grown, fermented, baked or produced on‑site. Anything else is sourced from local sustainable producers, farmers and fishers who share our commitment to ethical, seasonal food.

Our restaurant offers relaxed yet refined dining in restored heritage buildings, with indoor‑outdoor spaces, modern open kitchens, beautiful dining rooms, private dining and function facilities. We take pride in quality, creativity, teamwork, and hospitality.

What We're Looking For

Commis Chef

  • Passionate about fresh produce, flavor, and high standards of presentation.
  • Ability to work in a busy, seasonal kitchen.
  • Good knife skills and willingness to learn all stations.
  • Reliable, with strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred but not essential if you have strong motivation and a willingness to learn.

Chef de Partie (CDP)

  • Several years of proven kitchen experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to manage a station, lead junior staff, maintain consistency and quality.
  • Strong knowledge of seasonal ingredients, modern Australian cuisine.
  • Able to work under pressure and maintain service standards.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
