This role is national in scope, with Melbourne as the preferred base (3 days in office, 2 from home).
The Role
Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the Human Resources and Learning Manager will lead a talented team of People Business Partners and a Learning & Development Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity to guide a high-performing, motivated HR team that already has strong credibility across the business.
Your mandate will be both strategic and hands-on: building on a solid foundation of respect and influence while shaping the future direction of people and learning strategies. You'll have the opportunity to design initiatives from the ground up, backed by senior leaders who value and invest in their people. This role will work alongside a Director known for his supportive leadership style, commitment to developing staff, and reputation as a trusted mentor.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic and operational leadership across HR and Learning functions nationally.
- Partnering with senior leaders to deliver contemporary, compliant, and tailored workforce solutions.
- Overseeing the design and delivery of learning strategies, programs, and capability frameworks.
- Leading strategic people projects such as workforce planning, talent management, flexible work practices, and organisational development initiatives.
- Guiding and mentoring a high-performing team of People Business Partners and Learning professionals.
- Acting as a key escalation point for complex HR and employee relations matters.
- Driving the use of workforce analytics to inform decision-making and enhance organisational performance.
- Championing the organisation's values and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

The Successful Candidate
You'll bring proven leadership experience in HR and Learning & Development, with the ability to balance strategic vision and operational delivery. You're confident working with senior leaders on complex workforce matters, and equally comfortable mentoring and empowering your team.
Key skills and experience include:
- Strong background in HR leadership and end-to-end people management.
- Demonstrated success in designing and delivering organisation-wide learning and development strategies.
- Excellent knowledge of employment legislation, awards, and contemporary workforce practices.
- Experience leading strategic projects in areas such as capability frameworks, workforce planning, talent management, and organisational development.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, coaching, and influencing skills at executive and senior management level.
- Ability to use workforce data and analytics to inform evidence-based decision making.
- A values-driven leadership style, committed to building inclusive, high-performing teams.
