Nurse Next Door is a national home care provider that has rapidly grown over the last six years, expanding from one location in Melbourne to 55 franchised locations, servicing 77 territories around the country.

Founded in 2019, Nurse Next Door recently took out the prestigious 2025 Australian Franchisor of the Year. This recognition reflects the company's unwavering commitment to excellence in home care, continuous innovation and improvement and the trust placed in the brand by thousands of Australian families who rely on its care every day.

A certified "Great Places to Work", consistently recognised as an employer of choice, we are constantly on the lookout for the best people to join our team and help continue building our Bold Pink brand.

We are a purpose-driven business dedicated to delivering flexible in-home care options to those in the aged care and disability sectors, allowing people to live in their own home, on their own terms, for as long as they choose.

An exciting opportunity now exists to join us as our Human Resources (HR) Manager - a full time office based role for a highly experience Registered Nurse, focused on providing expert guidance and support to our franchise partners, ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to manage their teams effectively and compliantly.

When you're a part of our "HeartQuarters" team, located at our office in Hawthorn, your commitment to excellence and continuous improvement will contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the business.

If you're a passionate problem solver, find joy in embracing all things quality and compliance related, and love the idea of contributing to a successful team, then keep reading.

The Position:

The Human Resources Manager reports to the CFO, working closely with all areas of the business and plays a critical role as part of the Nurse Next Door Australia executive leadership team, ensuring our Franchise Network is providing care that meets the highest clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Award Interpretation: Serve as the primary point of contact for franchise partners, providing clear and accurate advice on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS), Nurses Award, and Clerks—Private Sector Award.
  • Advanced Employment Relations & Risk Mitigation: Provide expert strategic guidance and risk mitigation on all aspects of employment law, including advanced navigation of Fair Work Commission processes, performance management, workplace investigations and employment disputes.
  • Workers' Compensation: Provide support and advice on state-based workers' compensation claims, helping to navigate complex regulations and processes.
  • Compliance: Ensure franchise partners are up-to-date with the latest changes in Fair Work legislation and other relevant employment laws.
  • Training & Resources: Develop and deliver training materials and resources to franchise partners to build their HR capabilities.

Why we'll Love you:

  • You have extensive experience as an HR professional, with a strong focus on Australian workplace relations.
  • A legal / IR qualification is an advantage, but not mandatory.
  • You possess a comprehensive understanding of the SCHADS Award and other relevant awards, particularly within the aged care and disability sectors.
  • You are a clear communicator, able to translate complex legal and award information into practical, easy-to-understand advice.
  • You are proactive, a natural problem-solver, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have a proven track record of managing and mitigating risks associated with employment claims, including unfair dismissal.

Why you'll Love us:

  • Supportive, inclusive and friendly team environment
  • Enjoy a collaborative, purpose-driven team culture
  • Be part of a modern, customer-focused organisation redefining home care
  • Nurse Next Door's values and ethics are more than a poster on the wall, we visibly live them every day in everything we do
