Senior Patient Administrator

We are seeking a skilled and efficient senior patient administrator to join our team at our newly established South Yarra based Dermatology Practice. This role requires someone who can multitask effectively, operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and work collaboratively while also taking direction well. As a key member of our practice, you will help deliver exceptional patient service and provide essential support to our clinical staff in a patient-centered setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Warmly greet and assist patients, ensuring a seamless experience from arrival to departure.
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups with efficiency and accuracy.
- Handle patient enquiries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism and care.
- Process patient registrations, referrals, medical records, and billing transactions.
- Work collaboratively with clinical staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a well-presented reception and waiting area.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Perform general administrative duties such as scanning, mail handling, and report follow-ups.
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or patient administrator, minimum 2 years.
- Ability to multitask and operate efficiently in a busy environment.
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach.
- Professional personal presentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking direction well.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and billing procedures (Private, Medicare, and Health Fund billings).
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks.
- A positive, empathetic approach when interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Full Australian working rights with no restrictions on maximum hours.
- Hours arranged between 08:00 and 17:30 Monday to Friday - no weekends
- 2 shifts per week, with capacity to pick up additional ad hoc shifts.
- Casual or permanent part time available.
