The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives' Association (NSWNMA) in association with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation New South Wales Branch (ANMF NSW Branch).
About the role:
We are recruiting for a Lead to join our Member Rights Centre Team (MRC) on a temporary 12-month full-time basis. We are looking for individuals who have a strong industrial relations expertise and have managed a team of professionals as this role will oversee and support nine direct reports.
The primary purpose of this role is to lead a multidisciplinary team in the provision of industrial support and representation, delivering value for our members to achieve organisational outcomes in line with the NSWNMA strategic. The Member Rights Centre team provides high quality, timely industrial advice and advocacy services to NSWNMA members in the public health system, private and aged care sectors, across both state and federal industrial relations jurisdictions.
You will be working for a highly respected association and one of the strongest and largest unions nationally. We have a successful track record of being a strong advocate for our members which is evident by our year-on-year membership growth.
In this role you will:
- Create a supportive environment and guide and instruct team members in management of their cases.
- Cultivate a culture of learning, shared experience and professional growth within your team.
- Coordinate and allocate workload through our case management system.
- Prepare high-quality reports and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with team members and other Leads to deliver on case outcomes.
- Lead your team in contributing to the development and implementation of NSWNMA's strategic plan.
Essential Selection criteria:
- Qualification in a management-related field or equivalent work experience.
- Industrial relations qualification or extensive industrial relations experience.
- Strong change management skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Professional report writing and documentation capabilities.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Strong understanding of the challenges facing the nursing and midwifery professions in the public, private and aged care sectors.
- Sound knowledge of state and federal industrial relations systems.
- Proven leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- NSW Drivers Licence.
Desirable:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
