A bit about us:
The Glenmore is one of Sydney's premier venues which prides itself on its high level of service, impressive food and beverage offering, quality presentation of the venue and highly sought after location. Known for its sundrenched rooftop, The Glenmore has sweeping 180 degree views of Sydney Harbour and the CBD. The hotel's middle level is a destination for private dining, functions, product launches and corporate meetings, entertaining or functions complete with its own cocktail bar. The Public Bar is another versatile space catering for large groups on the outdoor dining tables or intimate dinners in the nook.
We have a Full-time Chef position available.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Collaborating with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen staff to discuss food preparation and menu planning.
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance on food preparation procedures.
- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a high standard.
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
- Selecting, training, and supervising kitchen staff.
- Managing food storage, including freezing and preservation where necessary.
What we are looking for in our candidates:
- Relevant Qualifications - Commercial Cookery.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience with coaching and mentoring junior staff.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for excellent quality food, produce, and service.
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to maintain kitchen procedures and WHS standards.
- Sound knowledge of food health & safety.
- Availability to work a mix of weekends & nights.
- Australian working rights.
- Ability to work Full-time - 38hrs/week.
Salary $75,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
