About the role:

The Leader of the Northern Territory (NT) Labor Opposition is seeking an experienced, driven online communications and engagement specialist to join our dynamic team.

You will be working within the Communications team and responsible for communicating the NT Opposition's policy positions and vision for all Territorians, as well as supporting the team to hold the Government to account on behalf of Territorians.

As the Social Media and Communications Advisor, you will:

  1. Build and execute engaging social media strategies to grow the online presence of the Leader of the Opposition and Opposition team, reaching communities right across the Territory.
  2. Manage day-to-day social media content, scheduling and engagement across platforms.
  3. Produce high quality graphics, videos and written content.
  4. Support the broader media and communication team.
  5. Monitor and grow the team's social media pages to amplify messaging and extend reach.
  6. Develop and implement engaging online content to highlight NT Labor's policy positions and connects with communities.

You will be someone with:

  1. Creativity, initiative, and confidence in storytelling.
  2. Highly skilled in videorecording and editing for various social media platforms.
  3. Proven experience in graphic design and ability to use Adobe Creative Cloud.
  4. Proven ability to operate in a politically sensitive environment and a well-developed understanding of the NT and national political landscape
  5. High level organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic online communications plans across a range of digital platforms.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Formal qualifications in a relevant field or demonstrated experience.
  2. Experience in Political office, Government and / or Parliamentary processes.
