About the Role

A global logistics powerhouse is seeking an experienced Distribution Centre Manager to lead operations at our high-performance automotive spare parts Distribution Centre. This facility services one of the world's most prestigious automotive brands and is critical to delivering fast, accurate, and customer-centric outcomes.

You'll be responsible for driving the end-to-end operational performance of the DC, leading a large team across inbound, inventory, outbound and VAS operations. This is a high-impact leadership role suited to someone with strong SAP WMS experience, 3PL contract management skills, and a passion for data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day DC operations with clear productivity, quality, and DIFOT targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with Service Level Agreements and manage cost-to-serve within budget.
  • Oversee labour planning, equipment utilisation, stock accuracy, and OOS billing.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, Lean practices, and automation readiness.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment aligned with DB Schenker's HSEQ standards.
  • Coach and empower Team Leaders, Supervisors, and operational staff across all shifts.
  • Own the full financial performance of the site including forecasting, P&L reviews, and revenue assurance.
  • Champion best-in-class use of WMS, RF scanning, Power BI, and predictive analytics to improve workflows and performance.
  • Build strong relationships with the client, driving alignment between operational execution and customer KPIs.

About You

You are a seasoned DC Manager or Senior Operations Manager with proven experience in large-scale, high-volume distribution environments, ideally within automotive or industrial spare parts. You bring strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of warehouse systems.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years in a senior DC leadership role (ideally within 3PL)
  • Experience managing unionised workforces
  • Strong working knowledge of WMS, RF tech, and inventory systems
  • High-level Excel and analytical capability (Power BI desirable)
  • Confidence presenting to and engaging with senior client stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of WHS, ER legislation, and compliance best practices
  • Lean Six Sigma or CI project experience will be highly regarded
