About the Position

We're looking for an experienced Loan Administration and Servicing Officer to join our dynamic team in Brisbane's vibrant CBD. In this key role you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional service to our borrowers while managing a range of post-settlement responsibilities across all areas of our business.

Key responsibilities will include:

Loan Account Maintenance and Functions

  • Processing loan disbursements and repayments;
  • Managing Loan transfers, loan draws and advances (where applicable);
  • Updating borrower contact information and account details;
  • Processing loan cancellations and closures;
  • Respond to internal and external loan account inquiries and investigate and resolve issues and discrepancies;
  • Manage loan payments: direct debits, manual payments, overpayments.

Interest Rate Management

  • Understand and apply different loan interest rate calculation methods (e.g. fixed, variable) and accurately process rate adjustments as required by loan agreements;
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies related to interest calculations.

Banking System Proficiency

  • Update and maintain loan account information within the Firstmac core banking system.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a banking or financial institution, with a focus on loan servicing or related operations;
  • Demonstrated understanding of loan interest rate calculation methods and principles;
  • Proficiency in using banking core processing systems for loan account management;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities;
  • Strong customer service orientation.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with specific banking systems - Ultracs preferred but not essential;
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian banking regulations (e.g. National Consumer Credit Protection Act);
  • Experience in handling escalated loan servicing issues.
