Your New Role

Join our Financial Control team as a Financial Analyst and play a key role in supporting the financial integrity of Aware Super. You'll be responsible for the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliation, and supporting tax and statutory reporting obligations. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a collaborative team, reporting to the Group Accounting Manager, and partnering with stakeholders across Business Finance, Group Tax, Group Reporting, Auditors, and Financial Operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage all aspects of the month-end close process, including accruals, general ledger reconciliations, and balance sheet substantiation
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register and oversee daily control of bank accounts, including reconciliations
  • Prepare supporting P&L and balance sheet schedules for management and board reports
  • Support the Group Tax function with tax calculations, BAS, and FBT returns
  • Ensure robust internal controls, policies, and procedures are designed, documented, and operating effectively
  • Prepare and review financial accounting reconciliations and reports
  • Foster teamwork and communication, supporting colleagues and directing queries appropriately

You'll have similar experience working in a financial services environment.

In addition, you will have:

  • Experience with monthly financial close in a complex corporate or top-tier CA accounting firm
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, balance sheet substantiation, and reconciliations
  • Ability to implement and manage robust internal controls
  • Familiarity with accounting operations, financial processes, and systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed problem-solving and data analytic skills
  • Results-oriented with strong business acumen and attention to detail
