About the role:

As an Operational Technology Specialist, you will join a dedicated team responsible for the high-quality installation, commissioning, and servicing of advanced systems, including High Precision Machine Guidance, Fleet Management Systems (FMS), Safety Solutions, and Network Infrastructure across a wide range of heavy equipment.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role involves working across varying site locations and requires a hands-on, solutions-focused approach. You'll play a key part in supporting our customers by delivering and maintaining industry-leading Operational Technology systems that improve productivity, safety, and automation in mining, landfill, and civil environments.

This is a full-time permanent role servicing customers across Australia with requirements to travel domestically and occasionally internationally to assist the other regions. Flexible rosters available. IT Package provided - Phone and laptop.  Service Vehicle Provided

  • Install High Precision GPS (HPGPS) and Fleet Management Systems (FMS) on heavy mining and landfill machinery.
  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on installed systems and equipment.
  • Conduct remote and on-site software and firmware updates.
  • Deliver training to machine operators and site management personnel.
  • Fabricate and modify mounting brackets as required for installations.
  • Complete administrative tasks including pre-start checks, job sheets, timesheets, client reports, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documentation.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to safety, including hazard identification and mitigation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and OEM CAN/Serial communication diagrams.
  • Adhere to Safe Work Instructions, SWMS/JHAs, and all relevant safety procedures on-site and in the workshop.
  • Conduct technical inspections and assist with job scope estimation and planning.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Trade qualified in either Electrical, Auto Electrical, Communications or similar
  • Ability to work within the mining sector and operate within the conditions onsite (Drug testing, Heat /Cold, Fatigue limits, remote work and ad hoc rosters)
  • Able to do shift work
  • Ability to work in remote areas
  • Strong sense of ownership, be initiative and work well in a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong practical and technical experience
  • Self-motivated and professional attitude
  • Company and customer focused
  • Valid C class driver's licence
  • HR license
  • Mining experience preferred
  • EWP and Work at Heights Qualifications preferred
  • Australian Recognised Trade Qualification preferred
