About the Opportunity
We are seeking an ICT professional to support ICT infrastructure, manage Internet/WAN links, and administer resources such as digital storage, enterprise firewalls, and wireless networks to help maintain ICT infrastructure availability for staff and readers.
You will work with the ICT Infrastructure team to lead the management of the major ICT components including wireless network, storage infrastructure and WAN/Internet connections. You will be applying effective problem-solving techniques and technical expertise to deal with resource and performance issues in a service environment. You will continuously be keeping the knowledge of ICT infrastructure technologies and solutions up to date with the changes and developments happening both within the Library and in the outside world.
Some key responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for the ICT infrastructure including core and WG switches, network management/monitoring applications, digital storage, Internet/WAN links and wireless network.
- Resolve infrastructure related incidents/problems, monitor network performance, and ensure the infrastructure is secure and efficiently operated.
- Ensure the ICT infrastructure and external hosted services are secure, regularly updated with patching and comply with cyber security guidelines.
The Ideal Candidate
You are a proactive and solutions-focused ICT professional with a passion for public sector excellence. You bring:
- Significant experience in managing, maintaining, and configuring a network containing multiple public and private segments, layer 2/3 switches, including VLANs, wireless and VOIP technologies, network security, administering network application servers and WAN routers;
- Broad experience of storage systems, WAN links, cloud technologies and knowledge of virtual servers' infrastructure; and
- Experience managing external service providers, contracts and performance agreements.
