About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our Consumer and Healthcare Group as Group Manager Network Transport, leading our consolidated national transport operations and shaping the future of a business with substantial revenue and growth potential.
Based in either Sydney or Melbourne, this is a newly elevated senior leadership role reporting to the President, Consumer and Healthcare Group. You will provide strategic direction, operational excellence, and inspirational leadership to a team of 200+ employees and contractors, supported by a strong state leadership group.
Your remit spans national primary and secondary freight services for blue-chip and market-leading customers. You will ensure safety, compliance, and customer service while driving optimisation, technology adoption (including Blue Yonder transport management system), and continuous improvement. With three direct reports and indirect commercial oversight, you'll lead a capable team ready for the next stage of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the Network Transport strategy, unlocking growth with existing and new customers.
- Lead, mentor, and empower a national team, building a high-performance culture grounded in integrity and trust.
- Drive customer engagement and deliver service levels that meet or exceed expectations.
- Ensure safety and compliance with Chain of Responsibility and the Linfox Way Code of Conduct.
- Implement operational optimisation, technology initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
- Deliver financial performance in line with budgets and create measurable, sustainable outcomes.
- Identify and convert business development opportunities, working collaboratively across the business.
About you
You are an accomplished transport leader with deep operational expertise and proven success leading large teams. You thrive on complexity, build high-performing cultures, and bring commercial acumen alongside the energy and drive to shape a growing function.
You can demonstrate:
- Senior leadership within transport or logistics.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale operations, people, customers, contracts, and financials.
- Strong commercial, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
- A track record of driving optimisation and embedding technology to deliver results.
- Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in logistics or business management (desirable).
