Where you'll be working
Ryde Hospital, Nursing Administration

Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide

What You'll Be Doing
The Workforce Nurse Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management, coordination, and optimisation of the Nursing and Midwifery workforce. This position supports Nurse Unit Managers (NUMs) in workforce planning, streamlining recruitment processes, and maintaining accurate establishment data and workforce statistics. The role ensures timely and efficient utilisation of eligibility lists, maternity leave planning, and the Nurse Bank strategy to maintain staffing continuity. In addition, the Workforce Nurse Manager contributes to policy development, performance management, and workload reviews, providing guidance and support to nursing personnel to foster a high-performing and sustainable workforce. Success in this role requires balancing multiple priorities, building strong collaborative relationships across disciplines, and engaging effectively with staff from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
  • Recent senior nursing management experience in an acute setting supported by a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing operational workforce matters at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently analyse, interpret, respond to and manage key operational issues.
  • Demonstrated experience and a proven track record in managing key priorities and delivering successful strategies and solutions using excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently recruit nursing staff and maintain workforce profiles at an organisational level.
