Canteen Assistant

Albert's Basement Cafe is the in-house café serving staff and visitors at the Chemist Warehouse Head Office in Preston We're a small, friendly team that takes pride in delivering quality food and drinks and keeping the café running smoothly—and we're currently looking for a reliable and motivated casual Canteen Assistant / Barista to join us.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service, and takes pride in keeping things clean, organised, and efficient.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Making coffees and serving food and beverages
• Adding new foods and ideas to the canteen menu and specials list
• Handling cash and providing friendly customer service
• Checking stock for expiry dates and monitoring supplies
• Cleaning the kitchen and café area regularly
• Ordering stock, stacking and replenishing (some heavy lifting involved)
• Preparing and cooking hot foods as required
• Taking pre-orders for lunch

What We're Looking For:

• Previous Barista experience is essential for this role
• Previous canteen or similar customer service experience is required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and good organisational skills
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
