Project Managers – Industrial Demolition/Decommissioning (FIFO)

A leading contractor in the industrial demolition and remediation space is expanding and seeking experienced project managers to deliver complex, high-impact projects across Australia. This is a FIFO role, with rosters typically following a 2:1 schedule, though this may vary depending on project requirements.

If you thrive in challenging environments and are passionate about delivering excellence in safety, sustainability, and project outcomes, we'd like to hear from you. Or, if you're a decorated Project Manager with a Civil background, and would like to transition into a career in Demolition, please reach out.

About the Role:

As the project manager, you'll be responsible for end-to-end delivery of large-scale industrial demolition or decommissioning projects. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project leadership: Oversee planning, coordination, and execution to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Resource management: Optimise labour, equipment, and materials within regulatory frameworks.
  • HSEQ leadership: Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across all project phases.
  • Risk & issue management: Maintain risk registers and proactively manage emerging risks.
  • Team leadership: Supervise cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration and performance.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, unions, and subcontractors.
  • Mentorship & development: Guide and support team members in their professional growth.
  • Operational compliance: Ensure all risk assessments and safety documentation are in place and maintained.

About You:

  • 5–10 years of demonstrated experience in industrial demolition and/or decommissioning on large-scale industrial facilities (e.g., refineries, mine sites, power stations)
  • Proven leadership managing multidisciplinary teams across white- and blue-collar roles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of HSEQ practices and commercial project delivery
  • Experience working under Cost, Time, Resources (CTR) contracts is highly desirable
  • Exposure to complex shutdowns and brownfield demolition scopes is an advantage
  • Background working in environmentally sensitive environments is preferred
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software is ideal
