We're looking for a skilled and motivated Demolition Leading Hand to take charge of site operations and lead from the front. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being hands-on while guiding a team, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, to scope, and to the highest safety standards.

The Role

As a Demolition Leading Hand, you will oversee day-to-day demolition activities, guiding your team to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You'll be hands-on in the field while also supervising labourers and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed on time, within scope, and in full compliance with safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support site managers in achieving construction program milestones and quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate labour, equipment, and materials to meet daily project goals.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, pre-starts, and safety briefings.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, SWMS, site safety standards, and silica dust management procedures.
  • Operate and oversee the safe use of demolition tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with demolition tasks as needed.
  • Maintain strong communication with project managers, clients, and crew members.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in demolition or construction leadership.
  • Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card).
  • Silica Awareness Training certificate (or willingness to complete).
  • Full PPE: steel-capped boots, high-vis, hard hat, gloves, long pants.
  • Physically fit and capable of manual labour.
  • Strong knowledge of demolition processes, tools, and machinery.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Legal working rights in Australia.
  • Ability to work day & night shifts.
  • Driver's licence (manual and/or automatic) with reliable transport.

Preferred (Not Essential):

  • Tickets/licences for EWP, excavators, forklifts, skid steers, etc.
  • Asbestos removal ticket (Class B or higher).Police check (or willingness to provide).
