About the Roles
Reporting to the Manager - Girls Programs, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Aboriginal woman to join our team as Program Coordinator to work in our Aboriginal Girls Programs. We are recruiting for two positions and are being recruited under Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) and is therefore open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only.
Based in our Fremantle Head Office, this role focuses on engaging, mentoring, and supporting Aboriginal girls through culturally responsive, school-based programs and excursions that promote attendance, engagement, and connection to culture. There will also be scope to work outside of these specific programs, contributing to a broader range of initiatives across the Foundation. You will work closely with schools, community stakeholders, and Foundation staff to develop, deliver, and evaluate program outcomes that make a real difference.
These are initial 12-month contracts with flexible start dates, and include the potential for extension or permanency, as well as a car and phone allowance.
Applicants from this recruitment process may also be considered for a Program Officer role. Program Officers play a crucial part in delivering impactful programs across schools and communities, helping to empower young people and strengthen engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the daily coordination and delivery of Aboriginal girls programs across Perth metropolitan schools and regional trips as required
• Engage with young Aboriginal women to mentor, support, and empower through culture and positive experiences
• Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, service providers, Elders, and community stakeholders
• Coordinate staff, materials, and logistics to ensure smooth program delivery
• Develop, plan, and report on program outcomes and participation data
• Organise and lead excursions to sites of local cultural and historical significance
• Contribute to ongoing program improvement and development

What We're Looking For
• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander female (50D – essential)
• Demonstrated experience working with and mentoring young people, particularly those at risk
• Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community, and youth engagement
• Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to lead a small team and manage program delivery in school settings
• Flexibility to travel within the Perth metro area and regionally as required
• A current Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, and unrestricted driver's licence
