Casual Program Officers and Coordinators – Perth Metro, Bunbury, Carnarvon or Geraldton Based (with Regional Travel)

The Stephen Michael Foundation empowers young people across Western Australia through innovative programs and community engagement. We are committed to fostering leadership, cultural awareness, and self-identity among youth while promoting positive mental health, and well-being.

About the Roles

We are seeking enthusiastic and proactive casual Program Officers and Coordinators to join our growing team. These roles can be based at our Perth metropolitan, Bunbury, Carnarvon or Geraldton offices, and include opportunities for regional travel across Western Australia and will be recruited on an as-needs basis.

As part of a passionate and supportive team, you'll help deliver programs that build the capacity of young people, support school engagement, and promote participation in sport and community activities.

These casual positions offer flexibility to work around other commitments such as study, family, or part-time work, perfect for those seeking to make a difference while developing their professional experience elsewhere.

We're passionate about growing our talent within the foundation and many of our incredible full/part-time and permanent employees began their Foundation journey as casual team members, often balancing university or other commitments while contributing to positive change across WA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Foundation programs and community events across schools and regional communities
  • Support and engage with young people to promote wellbeing, inclusion, and participation
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, service providers, and community groups
  • Assist with program planning, data collection, and evaluation
  • Represent the Foundation positively at all events and community activities

What We're Looking For

  • A passion for working with young people and making a difference in the community
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities or youth (highly regarded)
  • Experience and confidence in leading activities, sports programs, or workshops
  • Flexibility to travel regionally and work outside normal business hours when required
