  • Permanent Full-Time – 35hours per week
  • Attractive salary ranging from $1,175.25 up to $1,351.30
  • 12% Superannuation Contribution.

As an Inventory & Purchasing Officer at Moree Plains Shire Council, you will play a vital role within Council.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of inventory and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and maintaining accurate inventory records and stock levels to support operational needs.

  • Coordinating purchasing activities by liaising with suppliers, obtaining quotes, and processing purchase orders in compliance with organisational policies.

  • Monitoring inventory movements, conducting regular stock takes, and identifying discrepancies or variances for resolution.

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their inventory requirements and ensure timely fulfilment. - Identifying cost-saving opportunities through efficient procurement practices while maintaining quality standards.

  • Assisting in developing and implementing inventory control procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. - Contributing to the evaluation of supplier performance and participating in vendor management activities.

Skills & Qualifications: - Proven experience in inventory management, purchasing, or related field. - Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and analytical abilities. - Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications. - Effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams. - Knowledge of procurement regulations, best practices.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Certificate III in Procurement, Financial Services or Business Or relevant work experience.
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work accurately under conflicting time pressures.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as a team member and unsupervised.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people.
  • Well- developed interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal, with an excellence in customer service, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Ticket, Licences and Certificates:

  • General Construction Induction Card
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Forklift Licence (LF)

Immunisations required:

  • Ability to provide evidence of vaccination/immunisation for Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B and maintain currency of this throughout your period of employment.
