Holy Hock is a Korean restaurant located in Underwood, south of Brisbane. We specialize in our signature

dish, pork trotters (Jokbal), and offer a variety of dishes incorporating Jokbal, along with a range of other

Korean cuisine options. We are seeking an experienced and passionate head chef with exceptional skills to join

To be considered for this role you must have:

 Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Diploma of Hospitality Management or at least three relevant

experience in industry in similar position.

 At least one year of relevant experience in the industry in a similar position.

 Experience in Asian cooking techniques

 You must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent resident or have legal working rights in Australia.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities

 Plan and manage the menu, ensuring it aligns with seasonal availability, customer preferences, and budget

constraints.

 Supervise and carrying out food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain consistent quality and high

standards.

 Train and mentor kitchen staff, demonstrating techniques and ensuring adherence to hygiene regulations.

 Monitor inventory levels, control costs, and efficiently manage food supplies.

 Collaborate with director, and staff to address food preparation and operational concerns.

Main Tasks

 Develop and execute a menu featuring signature dishes like Jokbal and a variety of other Korean cuisine.

 Oversee and execute the preparation and cooking process, ensuring every dish meets quality and presentation

standards.

 Communicate with director and staff to resolve challenges in food preparation and service.

 Conduct hands-on training for kitchen staff, sharing advanced techniques and best practices.

 Manage ingredient procurement, ensuring freshness, quality, and proper storage to reduce waste.

 Enforce hygiene and safety regulations at all stages of food handling and preparation.

 Recruit and train new team members to build a skilled and cohesive kitchen staff.

 Implement effective food preservation methods, such as freezing, to maintain stock and minimize spoilage.

 Regularly check inventory and order food supplies as required with detailed estimation of food and labour

costs.

  • In-depth understanding of Korean cuisine, cooking methods, and plating techniques to deliver exceptional

dishes.

  • Proven ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively in a high-pressure kitchen setting.

  • Outstanding communication skills to work seamlessly with both kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address food preparation and kitchen operation challenges efficiently.

Salary - $76,750 per annum + Super
