About the Role

The Procurement, Contracts and Supply Chain Lead is responsible for working with relevant business partners and other key stakeholders within Energy Solutions to develop, execute and manage multiple related category, contract and supplier strategies that effectively manage risk, deliver sustained value. With the aim to provide Ampol with a competitive advantage, are aligned with the Energy Solutions strategic plan and comply with the Group procurement policies and processes. 

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with the relevant business partners and other key stakeholders, lead the development, implementation and performance management of Energy Solutions strategic category, contract and supply chain plans.  Understand, own and contribute to medium to long range business partners' plans (3yrs+) to ensure alignment of the category, contract and supplier strategies Provide expert advice to business partners to reduce risk, demand activity, complexity, immediacy and variability Lead procurement initiatives, including the solicitation of quotations and proposals, for assigned categories to deliver value to the business Lead evaluation processes of sourcing activities to determine optimal supply sources Draft, negotiate and implement contractual agreements Manage competing priorities, balance the right mix and number of procurement projects to maximise the benefits delivered by the portfolio of categories Leverage experience and subject matter knowledge to guide direct team members and cross-functional team members  Be a trusted commercial advisor within procurement operations activities Apply change management tools and techniques to influence business outcomes Conduct analysis of spend and supply markets to identify new opportunities to innovate, improve service and reduce risk.  

Key Skills and Experience

Experience in a Procurement Category Manager or equivalent role – with demonstrated experience of negotiating and managing categories and contracts of significant strategic and commercial importance Experience in managing and resolving contractual disputes  Influenced/advised business partners, suppliers, cross-functional stakeholders to create buy-in, change practices, processes, systems Strong influence, interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to engage stakeholders Excellent at dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty; shift gears and change course quickly and easily; adaptable; work well under stress Able to work across matrix/ various levels in organisation - Industry experience in engineering, industrial, fuels and/or corporate
